Building for the Community: EBR Construction at Northpark Pickleball
Commercial work is where craftsmanship really gets tested. A project has to hold up to heavy daily use, look sharp under public scrutiny, and come together on a schedule that keeps everything else moving. Northpark Pickleball in Oklahoma City checked every one of those boxes, and EBR Construction was proud to be part of bringing it to life.
Our team handled all of the interior painting throughout the facility and fabricated and installed the large custom steel awnings that define the outdoor courts.
Custom Steel Awnings That Make a Statement
The most visible part of our scope sits outside. Long runs of black structural steel stretch over the outdoor courtside lounge areas, with slatted louvered roofs that filter the Oklahoma sun without closing the space in. String lighting runs the length of each structure, turning the courts into a space that works just as well in the evening as it does at midday.
These aren't off-the-shelf shade structures. Each awning was custom built to span the courtside seating areas, tie into the site layout, and stand up to Oklahoma wind and weather year after year. Clean welds, straight lines, and consistent spacing across every bay matter on a structure this exposed, because there's nowhere to hide an imperfection when the whole frame is the first thing people see.
The result is an outdoor space that feels intentional. Players have shade between games, spectators have a comfortable place to sit, and the black steel gives the entire facility a modern, unified look from the parking lot to the back courts.

Interior Painting Throughout the Facility
Inside, our crews covered the full building. That included the bright, high-ceiling court areas where clean, even coverage keeps the space feeling open and well lit, and the dining and lounge spaces where the color work sets an entirely different mood.
The restaurant and bar areas feature deep navy block walls paired with warm leather banquette seating and brass sconces. Getting that finish right on exposed block takes proper prep and consistent application, especially across large uninterrupted wall runs where any inconsistency shows immediately. The darker ceilings and exposed mechanicals were finished to blend into the background, letting the lighting and furnishings carry the room.
The contrast between spaces is part of what makes the facility work. Courts feel bright and energetic. Dining areas feel warm and social. Paint does a lot of the heavy lifting in that transition.

Why Scope Like This Matters
Interior painting and structural steel sit at opposite ends of a construction project, and taking on both says something about how our team operates. We're set up to handle detailed finish work and major exterior fabrication under the same roof, which means fewer subs to coordinate, fewer handoffs, and a more consistent standard across the whole job.
On a project like Northpark Pickleball, where an existing mall space was reimagined into an active entertainment destination, that kind of flexibility keeps momentum going.
See It for Yourself
Northpark Pickleball is open and the community has already made it a regular stop, from league play on the indoor courts to pizza and drinks at Pie-Squared Pizza House. Seeing a finished space fill up with people is the best part of the job.
